A native of Indianapolis, Alisha Jackson received her Associate’s degree in Early Childhood Education in 2009 and her Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration from Indiana Wesleyan University in 2000. Jackson immediately secured a position with the Eli Lilly and Company in Analytical Sciences Research and Development as a Senior Assistant.
In 2000, Ms. Jackson assumed position of Executive Director of Pride Academy, a childcare facility that serves children ages 6 weeks through 13 years old. Under Ms. Apple’s leadership, Pride Academy now serves in two locations in Indianapolis and provides care to over 500 children. Partnering with numerous community institution – including IUPUI School of Music and Technology, the Boy Scouts of USA and 4 school districts – Ms. Jackson successfully expanded the services of Pride Academy beyond basic childcare to include early education programming for preschoolers and an After School program, called Pride in Motion that offers educational support a variety of exciting, educational activities for all school aged children.
In 2016, Ms. Jackson became the CEO of Pride Academy in order to focus more time on existing Pride Academy educational and extra curriculum activities, increasing resources so that more children can partake in Pride Academy programs as well as to create new programs for Pride Academy Kids.
